Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Laurian DC ("we", "us") handles through this website and through SR, and how we protect it. We follow Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

Two kinds of data

• Data about you as a customer. When you buy SR or contact us, we collect your name, email, phone number and school name. We use it to issue and renew your licence, send your activation key and receipts, and answer you.
• Data your school puts into SR. This includes students, guardians, staff, attendance, fees, scores and photos. Your school controls this data, and we process it only on your school's behalf to provide SR.

Payments

Online payments are handled by Paystack. We receive a payment reference, the amount, and the details you entered at checkout. We never receive your card number or Mobile Money PIN.

Where data is kept

With SR Desktop, your school's data stays on your own PC. With SR Cloud, it is also stored on our servers so the web app and sync work. Access is limited by role, so teachers, bursars and staff see only what their role needs. Passwords are stored hashed, and connections are encrypted.

Licence checks

To check a licence, the desktop app sends us its activation key and the PC's machine ID and name. We store a fingerprint of the key, never the key itself.

What we don't do

• We don't sell personal data.
• We don't show ads in SR or use school data for advertising.
• We don't share data except with the services that help us run SR (payment, email and hosting providers), or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Customer and payment records are kept for as long as accounting law requires. School data is kept while your school uses SR and after a subscription ends, so you can renew without losing anything. Ask us and we'll export or delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Parents and guardians should contact their school first, because the school controls student records. We'll help the school respond.
